Tiesto, Gucci Mane & Sevenn Put The Seatbelt Light on ‘Boom’: Listen
Billboard: Tiesto must have liked getting his bass on with Sevenn. The pair’s collaboration “Boom” was already a shiny g-house track, and though it featured a funky vocal, it was begging for a rap feature.
In a move no one could have seen coming, Gucci Mane the Trap God himself jumped on the beat. He even re-recorded the hook, so nothing about the bass don’t shake.
“I’ve always liked Gucci’s flow and music, so I approached him and he was down,” Tiesto is quoted in a press release. “What I’ve learned about teaming up with other artists is that everyone’s ear is different and everyone has their unique approach to working with a track. I know my sound very well, which can make collaborations difficult because I’m not willing to compromise my style. But, when my collaborations work, they really work. This track is an example of that.”
It’s not the first time Tiesto has teamed with a rap star. The decorated DJ has worked with Three 6 Mafia, Busta Rhymes and Flo Rida, among others. Check out “Boom,” out on Tiesto’s Musical Freedom label, below.
