Rotterdam talent Fais has seriously impressed with his Afrojack collaborations Used To Have It All and Hey, and he now returns with his first solo track. The glorious new single, Ask Me Tomorrow, once again marks him out as one to watch.
Fais’ soulful tones glide over swirling, phasing synth chords, with a sharp beat and gentle arpeggios building things up. The chorus adds electric guitar rhythm and uplifting chord progressions as he shows off his vocal range. Topped off with strings playing a counter melody, it’s a great song which you can easily hear being reworked and remixed in spectacular fashion.
With a background of classical piano training to match his dulcet tones and song writing prowess, Fais has all the ingredients needed to make a true pop star. He won a national singing competition in the Netherlands back in 2010 which led to performances at New York’s Apollo Theatre, and since then he’s been collaborating with a range of producers, artists and DJs as a songwriter and vocalist.
With over 200 million streams to his name, an acclaimed MTV EMA performance alongside Afrojack and Ty Dolla $ign and multiple awards including four Platinum Awards, Fais is making big waves. Splitting his time to write songs between his home Rotterdam in The Netherlands and Los Angeles, he is currently working on new music for an EP and an album. With Hey peaking at #2 in the Dutch Top 40 and receiving over a million views a day on YouTube, it’s clear that he is well on the way to becoming a major star.
