Merk & Kremont (Fede and Joe) first met in Fede’s basement in their home town of Milan. They started talking music, soon realizing they had the same vision, and started working together on a series of bootlegs all the way to their first successful original production, Tundra, in 2013.
The Italian duo’s musical influences range from Daft Punk to Fedde Le Grand, and the great House classics –and although Joe started out producing Hip-Hop beats whilst Fede was more into Pop–they found the perfect combination of ingredients to develop what is now recognized as their unique sound. A sound that has been described as “grinding ‘n’ groovy”.
Merk & Kremont have received support from huge acts such as Avicii Steve Angello, Hardwell, Nicky Romero, Benny Benassi and many more. They’ve been unleashing massive club hits for almost two years now and they still have plenty of ammo to shoot for the future.
Their tracks have featured on labels like Flamingo, Protocol, Size, Premiere, Revealed, Ultra and Spinnin’ and their remix of “Rather Be” by Clean Bandit reached 1M downloads on Soundcloud, played by hundreds of djs all over the world. The hit ‘Get Get Down’ – out on Spinnin Records – is something of a viral phenomenon thanks also to its insanely entertaining video and its their first track to enter the Beatport chart in the top 10. They have been taking their unique grindingly groovy sets all over Europe, Asia and North America and have played, among others, Pacha (Ibiza), LIV (Miami), Drai’s (Las Vegas).
“Give Me Some” – the first single they released in 2016 – is a collab with none other than the great Fedde Le Grand and it has been supported by some of the greatest deejays all over the world – the track was released on Le Grand’s own label Darklight Records. The two hits “Eyes” (ft Sunstars) and “Don’t Need No Money” (ft Steffen Morrison) were both released soon after on Spinnin Records. During the summer Fede & Joe made people from all over the world dance to the catchy beat of their Italian anthem “Ciao” – out on Musical Freedom – and at the beginning of October 2016 the duo teamed up with Dannic and released “Music” on Fonk Records.
The boys released the official remix of the world wide hit “Now Or Later” by Sage The Gemini in the beginning of 2017 as well as two super fresh club hits: “Invisible” and “Gang.”
In June, “Sad Story” was released on Spinnin Records and Universal Music. This brand-new single has changed the game for the duo, opening their sound up to a wider audience with a refreshingly catchy attitude.
The sky is the limit for Merk & Kremont who never cease to evolve and surprise us all.
