With co-signs from the likes of Diplo, Lorde, Zane Lowe and Vince Stapes along with major International and local support from Complex, BBC Radio 1, Beats 1, Triple-J, HillyDilly, Fashion Quarterly, SNIFFERS, George FM, ZM, and The Edge, Auckland producer duo SACHI are undoubtedly making their mark on the world stage. Nick Chrisp and Will Thomas met at primary school in Auckland and played in indie rock bands together throughout their schooling years. As they grew and their tastes developed, they both stumbled upon production and started writing together with a shared love of electronic music, and thus SACHI was born.
SACHI released their debut EP ‘Lunch With Bianca’ on July 1st 2016. Featuring the hit single ‘No More’ which since release has accumulated 2.5 million streams and reached the #1 testing song on George FM (New Zealand’s #1 Dance/Alternative Radio) making it one of the first songs to achieve that status since the likes of Lorde and Broods. Also on the EP are singles ‘Hold On’ and ‘South Central’ featuring rising L.A. rapper Duckwrth which were premiered on Diplo’s BBC Radio 1 show and Zane Lowe’s Apple Music Beats 1 radio shows respectively. Prior to the release of ‘Lunch with Bianca’ SACHI released a remix of ‘Teenage Craze’ for UK’s KLOE which went to #1 on NZ’s Spotify Viral Chart.
On April 28th 2017, the boys released their single ‘Shelter’ featuring NÏKA. The upbeat anthem, premiered on Triple-J, has been met with critical acclaim, reached a million streams 8weeks post-release, spent 14 weeks in the NZ Singles Charts and was the second highest played New Zealand song across commercial and alternative New Zealand radio. Another huge accolade came for SACHI when Lorde tweeted her love for their remix of her single ‘Green Light’. The official remix, which they did with fellow New Zealand producer Montell2099, was released on May 30th.
July 14th saw the release of SACHI’s latest release ‘Home’ with future-pop songstress MOONZz. The track is a collaboration that came from a writing trip to Los Angeles in early 2017.
